The collection consists of correspondence received by Knyvet (Bob) Winthrop Sears while traveling and living with his wife and child in Europe, 1859-60. Most of the correspondence was written by his mother Miriam C.M. Sears, and describes social activities in Newport and Boston, her daily activities, and the health of family members and friends. Also includes correspondence from his father David Sears and various friends; a carte de visite of Knyvet, and albumen photographs (pasted into letters) of his friends.
